SHS honors students with character

Katie Taylor was honored as Southside High School’s nominee to the Beaufort County Board of Education for the character trait of good judgment.
Other students nominated for this character trait, part of the Beaufort County Schools’ character education program, included Ashley Jones, Brandy Dobbs, Devin Mayo, Michael Bennett, Barbie Doll Moore, Gustavo Palacios, Kendedra Williams, and Johnny Sullivan.
Southside faculty and staff also recognized students for always following staff instructions, part of the SOAR initiative under the PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies) program. These students included Rosiland Clark, Darrius Whitley, Jaron Watson, LaShanya Dudley, Alexis Preece, Rashaad Sawyer, Tyler Cornelius, James Jones, Anderson Potter, David Rowe, and Almari Moore.
All nominees were honored at a reception at Southside on April 26.
