Glenn Watson, 86, of Garner, died Friday, May 31, 2013.
A funeral will be held Monday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at Wilson Memorial Service, followed by visitation. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.
He was a Veteran of World War II, a member of the Shiners in Wilson, a former Wilson County Commissioner and founder of various family businesses. He was a member of Edenton United Methodist Church prior to moving to Garner.
Mr. Watson is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris Bass Watson; son, Rick Watson (Brenda Womble) of Garner; grandson, Jason Watson of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and sisters, Jane Barbee of Raleigh and Etta Mae Batchelor of Lucama.
He was also lovingly known as “Grandpa” to his extended family: Beth Simmons (Ken), Noah Simmons, John Burke, Anna Burke, Abby Hupp and many others.
