Pastor Ivan Allen Correll Sr. passed away peacefully the morning of June 13th at River Trace Nursing Home in Washington, NC. Prior to being transferred to River Trace, Ivan resided almost four years at Homeplace of New Bern. Ivan and Helen moved to the east coast to live with Allen and Carole Correll in 1999, and moved with them to Chocowinity, NC in 2005. Most of his life was spent in Oregon and Washington State, where he pastored churches in Albany, Lebanon, and Hillsboro, Oregon and in Spokane, Washington. In the early 60’s he became involved with the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship after experiencing the filling of the Holy Spirit. After retirement, Ivan and Helen were very involved in ministry in Mexico. For many years Ivan served as president of Latin American Fellowship, a ministry that strengthens churches and equips leaders in Mexico to this day. They made many trips south of the border, preaching teaching and encouraging the church with prophetic ministry. Ivan was an example of a life filled with the “joy of the Lord Jesus Christ.” He was loved by many.
Ivan was the last surviving and youngest child of Edward Allen and Carrie Luella Correll. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Nadine Correll, and son, Edward Luther Correll (Ward). He is survived by sons Allen Correll of Chocowinity, NC, Hartley Correll of Houston, TX, Kenneth Correll of Fitchburg, MA and daughter, Marcia Jones of Denver, CO, 13 grand children, and 15 great grand children.
A private memorial service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the LATIN AMERICAN FELLOWSHIP, PO Box 821068, Vancouver WA.
