Guy Edward Potter, III, age 53, a resident of, Hookerton, NC passed away, Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the Jaycee Burn Center in Chapel Hill. At his request there will be no service.

Guy was born September 2, 1959 in Beaufort County son of the late Guy Edward Potter, Jr. and Shirley Adams Potter who survives. He worked in construction most of his life and was a bulldozer operator with Sawyer’s Heavy Equipment. Guy loved hunting

In addition to his mother he is survived by her daughters, Michelle P. Black (Ron) and Sandy Jo Potter both of Washington; his son, Guy “Edward” Potter, IV of Washington; his special friend, Diann Whitehurst of Hookerton; his sisters, Kathy Clark (Eddie), Diane P. Mason and Diantha Potter all of Chocowinity; his granddaughter, Angel Waltenburg; his grandsons, Spencer Edward Black of Washington, Colt and Thomas Adams of Washington; his nephew, Dylan Howard of Washington; his nieces Myriah Morlock Mason of Chocowinity and Chastity Baugham of Blounts Creek; and two great nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Matthew Morlock.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Dr., Greenville, NC 27834 or NC Jaycee Burn Center, 101 Manning Dr., CB #7600, Chapel Hill, NC 27599-7600.
