Mr. Ronald Joseph “Butch” Songy, age 67, a resident of 123 Pungo Trail, Belhaven, died Monday, September 9, 2013.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Songy was born in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana on September 8, 1946 to the late Roland and Leona Martin Songy. He was a 1964 graduate of South Terrebonne High School, was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houma, LA and was owner/ operator of A-C Service Company in Belhaven.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Songy and wife Christie of Montegut, LA, Beau Songy and wife Terra of Greenville, five grandchildren, Cody, William, Kaylin, Kyndell, Bree, two sisters, Barbara Nelson and husband T.J. of Houma, LA and Carolyn Carte and husband Ralph of Paradis, LA and Jeri Songy of Belhaven and Janice Songy of Houma, LA. He was preceded in death by one son, Will Songy.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sydney Free Will Baptist Church, 4345 S. Savannah Rd., Belhaven, NC 27810.
