Redden “R.L.” Louis Woolard

Redden “R.L.” Louis Woolard Sr., 84, of 540 Griffin-Hodges Road, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013 in his home. Mr. Woolard was born in Beaufort County on May 15, 1929, the son of the late Fannie Smith and James Redden Woolard. He married Martha Tyson Woolard on Jan. 17, 1949 and was retired from farming.
Surviving other than his wife, include his three sons: Redden Louis Woolard Jr. and his wife Barbara, James Earl Woolard, and Billy Ray Woolard, all of Washington; his two grandchildren, James Cody Woolard and Caroline Renee Woolard, and several great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Mr. Woolard’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Snowd Branch Church of God with Pastor Jerry Waters officiating. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from noon until the funeral hour. The family would to thank all of their friends, the Moore family, and Community Home Care and Hospice for their assistance with Mr. Woolard. Jimmy D.
