Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

During the month of October dogs and puppies at the Shelter will have an adoption fee of $40 each. This fee includes spaying /neutering, the first round of shots, a microchip and worming, for each dog adopted. This is a reduced fee with the remainder paid by the Humane Society of Beaufort County.

Bailey

Say hi to Bailey, a 2-year-old, 68-pound, Boxer/Shepard-mix, with a fawn and white coat and beautiful markings. Bailey is one bundle of love: she loves people, she loves attention and she loves tummy rubs and will do anything for a biscuit. This amazing dog is friendly, very sweet, listens well and has had some training. Bailey will be great with any kind of family but she needs to be the only dog in the home. With an adoption fee of $15, because she has already been spayed, she is ready to go to her forever home. Bailey is available through Saturday at the Shelter.

Coco and Roxy (and Babe)

Three adorable 8-week-old sisters, Coco, Roxy (both shown in the photo) and Babe (who went exploring rather than have her picture taken). Coco is an orange Tabby and Roxy is a buff Tabby, both have pastel-colored coats as delicious as sherbet.  Babe is a silver tri-color Tabby and her soft markings are intriguing. All three are playful, yet calm and affectionate, friendly, gentle and fun. They love to be held, cuddled and talked to and they will bring joy to any good forever home. Coco, Roxy and Babe are available through Saturday.
