Bobby S. Skinner, age 76, a resident of Bath, NC, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013. There will be a celebration of his life with military honors at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 14, 2013 at Hunters Bridge Church of Christ officiated by Arthur “Bud” Ball, Jr. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. A.W. Cooke, Jason Adams, Jay Waters, Mack Wallace, Bennie Ambrose, Wayne Howell, Mike Bateman and Kent Gurganus will serve as pallbearers. Members of Jackson Swamp Hunting Club will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. He will also lie in state from 1:00 to 6:00 PM today at Hillside Funeral Service.

Bobby was born December 30, 1936 in Beaufort County son of Bonnie Allen and Kathleen Jefferson Skinner. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. Bobby was married to Ella “Marie” Linton Skinner who survives. He retired as a tug boat captain after 48 years of service. Bobby was a member and elder of Hunters Bridge Church of Christ and a member of the Jackson Swamp Hunting Club.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters, Debra Chivell and husband Jeff of Deltona, FL and Denise Wright of Hampton, VA; his son, Bobby S. Skinner, Jr. and wife Samantha who is stationed in Germany; his sister, Doris Skinner of Bath; his brother, Jackie Skinner of Bath; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Horace and Ray Skinner; his sister, Mary Fox and his son-in-law, Ron Wright.
