Elda Lorraine Everett Keech

Elda “Toodle” Keech, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013. Mrs. Keech had been fighting cancer for the past two years.

A memorial service will be held 1:00p.m. Monday, November 18, 2013 at Everett’s Cross Roads Church of Christ with Dennis Davis presiding.

Elda was born to the late Edward and Mildred Everett on March 13, 1951, in Beaufort County, NC. Elda attended Bath High School and received an associate’s degree in EDP from Beaufort County Community College.

In 1968, she married Leonard Ray ”Snookie” Keech. They began their married life together in Virginia, where Elda became a hairdresser by profession. They relocated back to the Everett’s Cross Roads community of Beaufort County and have lived there for the past 38 years.

In addition to being a hairdresser, Elda was a mother, a homemaker, and an active member of the Everett’s Cross Roads Church of Christ. She was very active in the Cub Scouts of America as a Den Mother and was coach of several youth soccer teams with the Washington Youth Soccer program. Elda loved camping and she especially enjoyed camping in Cherokee and on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Elda is survived by her husband and two sons: John and his wife Michelle of Raleigh; Joshua of Washington, she also is survived by one granddaughter, Avery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Beaufort County Relay for Life, Post Office Box 2708, Washington, NC 27889.
