Mrs. Ruby Dell Coward Peaden Anderson, age 88, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Washington, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 2:00 pm. at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington conducted by Pastor Jimmie Johnson. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Pitt County on September 14, 1925 to the late Bennie “Ben” Coward and Wreatha Mills Coward. Mrs. Anderson was first married to James Thurman Peaden on August 7, 1942, he preceded her in death on May 10, 1981. On December 15, 1985, she married Bennie Anderson, who also preceded in death on July 4, 1995. Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker, who enjoyed cooking, crafts and working with flowers.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Roughton of Washington, a granddaughter, April Sheets and her husband Scott of Eure, NC and a great granddaughter, Emma Sheets and a sister, Geraldine C. “Geri” Pittman of Swan Quarter, NC.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Anderson is preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Coward, Earl Coward and Floyd Coward and three sisters, Bertha C. Corbett, Mildred C. Daniel and Martha R. Coward.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
