Floyd Shelton Cuthrell Sr.

Mr. Floyd Shelton Cuthrell, Sr., age 76, a resident of 299 E. Barr Road, Chocowinity, NC, died Monday December 16, 2013 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington, NC.
A funeral service will be held 11:00a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Rev. David Linton and Rev. LeRoy Cutler. Burial will follow in Yeatesville Cemetery. Ryan Cuthrell, Brock Cuthrell, Carl Cuthrell, Kevin Champagne, Bruce Dail and Dylan Lewis will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Cuthrell was born in Beaufort County on April 17, 1937 to the late John R. Cuthrell and Mary Elizabeth Gaskins Cuthrell. He was a 1957 graduate of Pantego High School. On April 11, 1959, Mr. Cuthrell married Carolyn Keech Cuthrell, who survives. Mr. Cuthrell was a retired mechanic, having worked at PCS for 30 years.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Cuthrell is survived by his children, Lee Cuthrell of Aurora, NC, Shelton Cuthrell, Jr and spouse Sandy J. Cuthrell of Aurora, NC, Van Cuthrell of Chocowinity, NC, Melody Cuthrell Dail and spouse Bruce Dail of Snow Hill, NC and Jo Ann Cuthrell Smith and spouse Allan Smith of Chocowinity, NC, seventeen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, brothers, James Allan Cuthrell and spouse Mary Cuthrell of Pinetown, NC and George Cuthrell and spouse Luette Cuthrell of Washington, a sister-in-law, Betty Jean Cuthrell of Pinetown, NC and three sisters, Mildred Young of Pinetown, NC, Doris Stokesberry of Ponzer and Pam Burbage of Pinetown, NC.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cuthrell is preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Cuthrell and a brother-in-law, Ronnie Young.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 6:30p.m.-8:00p.m. at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of his daughter, Jo Ann Smith, 600 Langley Road, Chocowinity.
