Feb. 20, 1954 – Nov. 22, 2013

Nancy Leigh Jennette Reid, age 59, a resident of 4102 Day Beacon Drive, Belhaven, died Friday, November 22, 2013 at Hospice of Wake County Hospice Home in Raleigh.
Nancy was born in Cumberland County, N.C. on February 20, 1954.  She was raised and attended school in Hyde County, N.C.  After graduation, she attended and graduated from Lenoir Community College.  Nancy was a legal secretary until she started working for IBM in 1980. She retired from IBM in 2009 after almost 30 years of employment.
Nancy was predeceased by her loving husband of 20 years, Russell McIver Reid in 2011.  He father, Garland W. Jennette, died in 2002 and her mother, Charlotte R. Jennette, died in 2010. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Dr. David Reid and sister-in-law, Lisa E. Reid of Raleigh.  She is also survived by a niece, Emily R. Campbell and a nephew, Marshall Reid whom she loved very much, as well as a few cousins and wonderful friends.
Nancy was a kind, loving, and generous soul. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, Dec. 27 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Methodist church in Belhaven.
In lieu of flowers, Nancy requested that donations be made to Trinity Methodist Church in Belhaven or the Beaufort County ASPCA.
