Washington native Peggy Woolard named Life Trustee of the International Tennis Hall of Fame

Longtime tennis industry supporter and Washington native Peggy Woolard has been named a Life Trustee of the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum in Newport, Rhode Island.
Woolard has been active on the Board of Directors for well over 20 years, and currently serves on the Executive Committee. She has been influential in fostering significant growth in the museum at the International Tennis Hall of Fame, and currently serves on the Museum Committee. She has also been an active director for the Delaware Art Museum for more than 30 years.
“Peggy has been instrumental in the growth of the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum over the past two decades. She has wholeheartedly supported our mission to preserve the history of tennis and she has been an active leader. We are grateful for her work and are pleased to be able to acknowledge her efforts by naming her a Life Trustee,” said Christopher E. Clouser, chairman of the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum.
Woolard was recently honored at a tribute event in recognition of this honor. The event was held Nov. 20 at Doubles Club in New York City. Woolard’s friends and family, along with supporters of the Hall of Fame, came out to the event to thank and honor her for her years of dedicated service to the organization. She was presented with a special award and had the opportunity to speak.
Hall of Famers Billie Jean King, Dick Savitt and Donald Dell were in attendance, and King delivered a heartfelt introduction of Woolard, as the two have been longtime friends.
