Theft suspect found in field

On Dec. 24, 2013, at approximately 8:30 p.m., deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle break-in that just occurred on Magnolia School Road in Washington. Troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol also responded to assist.

The responding officers searched the area on foot after receiving information that the suspect ran from the scene. A trooper located the suspect in a field nearby and took him into custody. A stolen debit card and watch were recovered from the suspect at the time of arrest.

The victim’s pocketbook was also located nearby.

As a result, Deputy Zach Martin charged Jodeci Michael Boomer, 21, of Jack Street, Washington, with breaking and entering a motor vehicle and misdemeanor larceny. Boomer was transported to the Magistrates’ Office and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $3,000 secured bond set by Magistrate David Curtis.
