OBIT CROSBY

David Albert Crosby, age 57, a resident of Tate Landing, Belhaven, NC, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014. There will be a celebration of his life at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 4, 2014 St. Clair’s Church of Christ, officiated by Craig Hagen. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Leonard Hudson, Tolby Tetterton, Kenny Wayne Jefferson, Brian Swain, George Elliott and Billy Warner will serve as pallbearers. Eric Slade, Bill Slade, Gordon Pippin, Jay Mason, Jack Pishnock, Doug Wilson, Bill Carawan and Wayne Russ will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 12:00 to 1:30 PM at St. Clair’s Church of Christ.

 

David was born February 2, 1956 in Hudson, NY, son of the late Howard and Jane Lamb Crosby. On August 31, 1980 he married the former Lucy Respass who survives. After graduating from Guilderland High School, David attended Hudson Valley Community College and York College. He later earned his Masters Degree from East Carolina University. David was employed at Beaufort County Community College as Director of Special Projects. David and Lucy had lived in Belhaven for 32 years. He was a Deacon at St. Clair’s Church of Christ.

 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Danielle Lorene Crosby Wells and husband Jeremy and their daughter, Ella Sophia Wells; his sisters, Kathy Liska and husband Wayne of Schenectady, NY and June Costello and husband Jon of Clifton Park, NY; his brother, Paul Crosby and wife Stephanie of Albany, NY; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Daniel and Julia Respass of Belhaven, NC.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in David’s memory be made to, St. Clair’s Church of Christ Building Fund, 9814 NC 99 Hwy S., Bath, NC 27808.
