Jimmy Watson Buck, age 70, a resident of Elks Rd., Chocowinity, NC passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at his home. There will be a celebration of his life at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 10, 2014 in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service, officiated by Randi Varni. The family will receive friends Friday, January 10 from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Hwy 264 E, Washington, NC and other times at the home.

 

Mr. Buck was born September 2, 1943 in Beaufort County, son of the late Jessie and Velma Hodges Buck. He was a graduate of Chocowinity High School class of 1961. Mr. Buck served in the Army National Guard for 17 years. On July 23, 1994 he married the former Juanita Haddock who survives. Mr. Buck retired from Stanadyne Corp. as a supervisor. He lived his entire life in Beaufort County and was a caretaker for Wesley Cemetery for 50 years. He enjoyed shepherd dogs.

 

In addition to his wife, Mr. Buck is survived by his sons, Michael Ray Buck of Washington and Timothy Eugene Jones of Chocowinity; his brother, Frank Buck of Washington; his sisters, Audrey Pearl Moore of Washington, Janice Boyd of Blounts Creek, Carolyn Williams and Vivian Elks both of Chocowinity and Evelyn Buck of Cottonwood, AZ; and his grandchildren, Timothy Blake Jones and Bailey Anita Jones.

 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Delon Buck.

 

Memorials may be made in Mr. Buck’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
