Hubert “Stanley” Wainwright, age 58, a resident of Portside Dr., Chocowinity, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014. There will be a celebration of his life today, at 7:00 PM, in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service, officiated by Dr. Richard Sheriff and Dr. Phil Hayes. Burial will be Wednesday, January 15 at 11:00 AM at Pamlico Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at Hillside Funeral Service and other times at the home.
Stanley was born March 2, 1955 in Farmville, son of the late Hubert and Mary Skinner Wainwright. He graduated from Farmville High School in 1973. Stanley was employed in automotive parts. He was employed with Hastings Ford and retired from Pecheles Ford, July 30, 2013. On April 3, 1994 he married the former Carol Sullivan who survives. Stanley loved his family, traveling, boating and living on the river with his wife. He was a member of Chocowinity First Baptist Church. Stanley found great comfort in his relationship with Jesus Christ who gave him strength and peace.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Willis-Buck of Grantsboro; his son, Michael Brian Wainwright of Elk City, OK; his step-daughter, Teri Sauls of Robersonville; his step-son, Al Davis of Asheville; his brother, Chris Wainwright of Farmville; his sister, JoAnn Gay of Greenville; his grandchildren, Hevin and Dusty Willis, Jayde Wainwright, Katelyn Waters, Harlow Wainwright, Joanna, Rachel, and Lydia Sauls, Katie Davis and five step grandchildren.
