Helen Powell Downing Clark, 93, of Rural Hall, and formerly of Roper, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Novant Medical Center, Winston-Salem. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Eastern North Carolina Assembly Headquarters Building, Roper, with Bishop Daniel Boston officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Roper. Arrangements are by Toodle’s Funeral Home, Plymouth.
