GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina sophomore Wes Conover has been named the Conference USA Golfer-of the-Week, according to an announcement made Thursday by the league office.

Conover, a native of Holly Springs, N.C., finished tied for ninth individually at the Sea Best Invitational, an event that included C-USA foes Florida Atlantic and Old Dominion along with a tri of ranked teams. Conover had rounds of 74-82-67 for a total of 7-over 223, finishing tied with one ranked player and ahead of another.

The ninth-place showing was the first top-10 finish of his career, while the third round 67 was the lowest of his collegiate career.

Conover’s teammate, Eric Brady, was named Conference USA Golfer-of-the-Week twice during the 2013 fall season.

Conover, Bray and the rest of the Pirates will return to action Monday and Tuesday at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational in San Antonio.
