Mrs. Peggy Lucille Paramore Mayo, age 76, a resident of 130 Waterford Place, Washington, NC, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2014 at her home.

A funeral service will be held 2:00p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, NC, officiated by Steve Hill and Ray West. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Ed Ward, Harvey Carraway, Bob Godfrey, Kevin Beck, Andy Everett and Steve Kennedy will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Mayo was born in Beaufort County on December 13, 1937 to the late Henry Edward Paramore and Lucille Warren Paramore. She was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School. Mrs. Mayo worked in the insurance department at Beaufort County Hospital for 30 years before her retirement in 2001. Mrs. Mayo was a member of the First Church of Christ of Washington.

Mrs. Mayo is survived by her daughter, Tracey M. Jones and husband William of Chocowinity, NC.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mayo is preceded in death by a sister, Mary P. Perry.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
