Knights upset Pungo Christian in TISAC Tournament semi-finals

After one of the great comebacks and upsets in school history last Saturday, the Terra Ceia men’s basketball team defeated rival Pungo Christian once again on Thursday in the TISAC Tournament, 70-46.

With two Pungo starters ineligible due to on-the-court violations dispensed during last week’s Terra Ceia-Pungo game, much of the burden fell on Pungo’s star small forward, senior Cole Austin Woolard, who finished with 26 points, going 9-for-9 from the charity strip.

Terra Ceia senior Kyle Hendrix, who was last week’s player of the game, came up big for the Knights on Thursday, recording 19 points, eight steals and four rebounds.

The Knights sealed the game with a 28-point third quarter. Sophomore Chase Furlough came a rebound away from a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds.

With the win, Terra Ceia has locked up a spot in today’s TISAC Tournament Championship game at Lawrence Academy beginning at 4:30 p.m. The Knights will face the winner of Friday night’s Hobgood-Ridgecroft semi-final game.
