Mrs. Nancy Dorcas Warren Roberson, age 94, a former resident of Tunstall Swamp Road, Edward, died Monday, February 17, 2014 at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 21, 2014 at Smyrna Free Will Baptist Church, Blounts Creek, conducted by Pastor Chuck Owens and Dr. Robert Cayton. Burial will follow in the Fulcher Family Cemetery, Edward.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Calvin Roberson, Terry Casey, Sr., Ed Austin, Carl Cayton, Benny Grubbs and Larry Smith.
Mrs. Roberson was born in Beaufort County on September 18, 1919. She was the daughter of the late George Warren and Lucretia Cayton Warren. Mrs. Roberson was a homemaker. At the time of her passing, she was the oldest living member of Smyrna Free Will Baptist Church. In her spare time, Mrs. Roberson enjoyed ceramics, crocheting and knitting.
Mrs. Roberson was married to Joseph Slade Roberson, who survives.
Surviving with her husband are two sons, Delano Warren Roberson and wife, Barbara of Edward, Joseph Slade Roberson II of Cary, N.C.; two grandchildren, Calvin George Roberson and Lee-Anna Nicole Roberson both of Edward; and one great grandchild, Isabella Nancy Alexander of Edward.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Roberson was preceded in death by two sisters, Opal Giles and Juanita Armstrong and four brothers, Calvin Warren, Fred Warren, Ben Warren and Edgebert Warren.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.
