The Pamlico Sail & Power Squadron (PSPS) held its Change of Watch Feb. 22 at the Washington Yacht & Country Club. The Change of Watch is an annual event for which casual dress is stepped up a notch and our PSPS Officers are in uniform.

Accompanied by his wife, Margaret, District 27 Executive Officer, Lt/C Burt Person, SN, traveled from Raleigh to preside over the change and installation of the new bridge officers. The new bridge consists of: Commander Edith Miller, S; Executive Officer Pat Kenefick, P; Administrative Officer Chris Young, S; and Secretary Janet Neckyfarow, AP.  Assistants to the Bridge Officers include Assistant Administrative Officer-Meetings, Karyl Doscher; Assistant Administrative Officer-Boating, Bill Ramsden, P; Assistant Educational Officer, Manuel Nuñez, S; Assistant Treasure Anne Kumins, P, and Assistant Secretary Kay Graham.

Retiring Commander, Gene Alligood, AP, referred to the accomplishment report provided and reported that 2013 was another successful year for PSPS. The highlight of the evening was the recognition of outstanding efforts and awards for achievement given to various members for their contribution to our mission.  They included the Hatala Education Award to Donna Dunlap, P; the Past Commanders’ Award to Ed Latta; the Commanders Recognition Award to Dan Meyer, P; the Community Service Award to P/C Tom Miller, S; the Colwell Perseverance Award to Bruce Billings, AP; and the famous Bent Prop Award to John Rebholz, P.
