Elizabeth Bonner Moss Britt, age 95, a resident of 109 Palmer Place, Washington, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church and will be conducted by Dr. Jerry Bron and Rev. Lee Kinney. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lee Morton Cooper Jr., Preston Turner, Franklin Johnston, William Oden Jr., Thomas Vann, and A. Dumay Gorham II.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Henry L. Stephenson, James G. Martin, Henry Blount Rumley, Dr. Robert Sandy, Dr. Josh Tayloe, William P. Mayo Sr. and James G. Sullivan.

Mrs. Britt was born in Washington on Oct. 15, 1918, to the late Frank and Mary Russell Moss. She was married to E. Knox Britt who preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1979. Mrs. Britt was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of Washington.

Survivors include two daughters: Bettie Bonner Bradshaw and husband Derris of Washington, Lindsay Britt Hornthal and husband Dr. Allen Hornthal of Edenton; grandchildren, Knox Hatton Cooper of Washington, John Campbell Cooper Jr. of Washington, Mary Havens Cooper-Willis and husband Mark of Raleigh, Elizabeth Hornthal Worley and husband Todd of Raleigh, Martha Lane Hornthal and partner Kathleen Kincaid of New York City; and great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Michael Worley, and Maria and Veronica Matos. She was preceded in death by her brothers: John Havens Moss, Beverly Turpin Moss and Lindsay Russell Moss.
