Carey Sutton White, 56, of Aurora, passed away March 11, 2014 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital due to complications from a recent illness.

 

Carey was born in Plant City, FL on February 23, 1958 to the late Ray Alton White, Sr. and Marjorie Elaine Sutton.  He attended school in Lakeland, FL and New Bern, NC. Throughout his life, Carey was involved in construction and carpentry work, including employment at Hatteras Yachts and Texas Gulf. He once owned and operated his own cabinet shop.

 

Carey had a relationship with the Lord. He was known for being a kind and generous man to all who knew him.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening and he was an avid NASCAR fan. Carey loved cooking fish stew for his family and friends. He loved his dogs, and he was often seen with his Plott hound, Bo, in the back of his truck at the Piggly Wiggly in Aurora.

 

He is survived by one brother, Ray Alton White, Jr. and wife Lorraine of Brevard, NC; three sisters, Brenda Elaine Daugherty Knoll and husband Steve of Tucson, AZ; Joan Carla Cowell and husband David of Ernul, NC; Sara Grace Perdue and husband Gregg of Rocky Mount, NC; one half-sister, Amy White McCrummen of Sampson, AL; one step-sister, Renea Moore Duncan of St. Mary’s, GA. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Tamara Fountain, Jennifer Ferking, Elaina Joy Cowell and fiancé Steve Toler, Michael Cowell, Matthew Cowell and wife Tammie, Joshua McCullen and fiancé Michelle Krug, Adam Perdue and fiancé Joeanne Dvornik and son Liam, Alanna Perdue, great nieces and nephews, Amy Leigh Toler, Kendall Anne Toler, Jacob Paul Toler and Caleb McCullen.

 

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Cotton Funeral Home, followed by his funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
