GREENVILLE — For the second-straight season and third time in the last four years, East Carolina will compete in the CollegeInsiders.com Postseason Tournament (CIT), announced head coach Jeff Lebo Friday.

Making the program’s sixth postseason appearance in its 50-year Division I history, ECU will host Horizon League member Wright State in the first round Tuesday, March 18, inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum at 7 p.m. The matchup will serve as the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

Second-round CIT games will be played March 21-22, quarterfinal games March 25-27 with the semifinal games on April 1 and the championship game to follow on April 3. Semifinal contests and the title tilt will be televised by CBS Sports Network. All games will be played on-campus sites.

Tickets for the 2014 CIT are $15 for adults and $10 for youth (12-and-under), and are available on-line at the online ticket center. Season ticket holders have until 5 p.m. Monday to purchase their same seat location. The ECU Athletics Ticket Office, located off Berkley Drive behind Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Last season, East Carolina captured the CIT championship with a 77-74 win over Weber State. Akeem Richmond buried a 3-pointer as time expired to give ECU its first-ever postseason tournament title. The Pirates won the first four games of the tournament at home before traveling to Ogden, Utah to play for the title.

The Pirates finished the regular season with an overall record of 17-16 and assured themselves consecutive non-losing seasons for the first time since recording four-straight winning seasons from 1993-97. ECU defeated UT-San Antonio in the first round of the 2014 Conference USA Championship and then fell to tournament host UT-El Paso in round two.

Wright State, coached by former UNC Wilmington guard Billy Donlon, compiled a 20-14 overall record and finished third in the Horizon League with a record of 10-6. The Raiders are coming off a 69-63 loss in the league championship game Monday night. They are led by second-team All-Horizon League forward A.J. Pacher, who averaged 11 points and five rebounds during the regular season.
