Mrs. Ruby Daniels Pippin, age 96, a resident of Beaufort County, died Thursday, March 13, 2014, with her family by her side.

A funeral service will be held 2:00p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, NC officiated by Rev. Jim Reed. Burial will follow in Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery in Washington, NC. Ray Pippin, Jr., Charlie A. Pippin, G.K. Pippin, Ed Pippin, Stacey Pippin, Lance Pippin and Drew Pippin will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Pippin was born in Beaufort County on May 26, 1917 to the late James Marion Daniels and Georgia Melissa O’Neal Daniels. On November 17, 1934, she married Willis Aubrey Pippin, who preceded her in death on May 8, 1992. Mrs. Pippin was a homemaker and had worked for Smith’s Red and White Supermarket. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, upholstery, refinishing furniture and fishing. Mrs. Pippin was very active in the life of her church, Asbury United Methodist Church, where she had served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, a member of the Mary-Martha Circle and the United Methodist Women and was active with Vacation Bible School.

Mrs. Pippin is survived by five sons, Willis Colby Pippin of Washington, NC, Marion Ray Pippin and his wife Peggy of Washington, NC, Don O’ Neal Pippin and wife Donna of Williamston, NC, Gordon K. Pippin and wife Josie of Bath, NC and Fredrick N. Pippin and wife Brenda of Wilson, NC, ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and three sisters, Helen Dixon of Washington, NC, Ernestine Lane of Washington, NC and Margie Sikes of Washington, NC.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Pippin is preceded in death by three brothers, Jack Daniels, Allie Daniels and George Murphy Daniels and a sister, Hazel Daniels

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, NC and other times at the home of her son, Colby Pippin, 138 Granville Drive, Washington, NC.
