Mrs. Evelyn Wynne Vick Webster, age 88, a resident of Washington died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Center.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Washington 15th Street Church of God officiated by Pastor Thomas Lee. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Grandsons: Kevin Vick, Mike Vick, Tony Vick, Jason Vick, Chris Vick and Steven Vick will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters: Paula Carrow, Allison Cox and Marci Copeland.

The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Washington 15th Street Church of God and other times at the home of her daughter Lois Buck, located at 409 Williamsburg Road, in the Tranters Creek Estates area of Washington.

Mrs. Webster was born in Martin County on Dec. 7, 1925, daughter of the late James Redden Wynne and the late Carrie Lavania Beacham. She married Willie Vick on March 12, 1941, who preceded her in death on April 22, 1970. On June 3, 1976, she married George Webster who preceded her in death on March 1, 1989. She worked with National Spinning of Washington for 31 1/2 years and at the time of retirement she was a lab technician. Mrs. Webster was a long-time member of 15th Street Church of God, where she was very dedicated and active as her health permitted.

Survivors include a daughter, Lois Vick Buck of Washington; two sons, Larry Vick (Kathryn) of Kinston and Donald Vick (Beverly) of Chocowinity; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Bright Vick of Chocowinity; a sister, Carolyn Jones of Washington; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. Mrs. Webster was predeceased by a son, Jerry Vick, and a sister, Irene W. Taylor.
