IT ADDS UP: Students in the fourth through eighth grades competed in the third-annual Washington High School Math Competition on Feb. 8. Two elementary-school teams and three middle schools competed for team and individual awards. In the elementary division, Alex Plasencia placed first overall. In the middle school division, the team of Brooklyn Hudnell, Daisy Soto and Bethany Smith won first place. Individually in the middle school division, Bethany Smith placed third, Daisy Soto placed second and Jessica Foster placed first.
