Tyrrell County Board of Elections Provides Updates on May 2014 Primary

All residents of Tyrrell County who are registered to vote with the Tyrrell County Board of Elections may vote in this election. Those residents of Tyrrell County who are not registered to vote must register on or before April 11, 2014 in order to be eligible to vote in this election. Any voter who has moved since the last election must notify the Board of Elections in writing by the same date. A person may register at the Board of Elections Office, 403 Main Street, Columbia or may register by mail. You will not be allowed to register and vote during One Stop.
Absentee ballots are allowed and the request must be made on the new State Absentee Ballot Request Form. Requests will be received through April 29, 2014. The completed ballot must be received in the Tyrrell County Board of Election Office, PO Box 449, Columbia, NC 27925 no later than 5:00 PM on Tuesday, May 6, 2014.
One-Stop absentee voting will be held in the Board of Elections Office, 403 Main Street, Columbia, beginning Thursday, April 24, 2014 and ending Saturday, May 3, 2014. Same day voter registration is no longer an option. The Election Office will be open on the following schedule:
Thursday April 24 9 AM to 6 PM
Friday April 25 9 AM to 6 PM
Monday April 28 9 AM to 6 PM
Tuesday April 29 9 AM to 6 PM
Wednesday April 30 9 AM to 6 PM
Thursday May 1 8 AM to 8 PM
Friday May 2 8 AM to 8 PM
Saturday May 3 8 AM to 1 PM
