TAMMY BOYD | CONTRIBUTED A HIGHER RANK: Garret Lynn Boyd, of Pinetown, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He was recently honored at a ceremony at First Church of Christ on January 24. He is the son of Douglas and Tammy Boyd and grandson of James Russell and Phyllis Boyd and Phil Black. Boyd, a member of Boy Scout Troop 258, is a senior at Northside High School and is active in FFA, serving as chapter president. Boyd plans on attending NC State in the fall. To earn the Eagle award, Boyd has earned 28 merit badges, served as leader in his troop and completed a community service project — erecting flag poles at the Bath Elementary School athletic fields.
