Mrs. Mattie Virginia Howell McCray, 102, of 391 Jones White Road, Roper, died April 1, 2014 at Vidant Chowan Hospital in Edenton. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Eastern North Carolina and Virginia Assembly Headquarters Church of Christ D.O.C., 101 June Street in Roper. Burial will follow at the Bethel Church Cemetary in Roper. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bethel Church Disciples of Christ, 10893 NC 32, North Roper. Arrangements are by Puckett-Purkett Funeral Home.
