Beaufort County education and economic development leaders will unveil their joint vision for education and economic development in the region at a dinner to be held at 6 p.m., Monday, April 7, in the Multi-Purpose Room of Building 10 on the Beaufort County Community College Campus.
The invitation-only event will feature remarks from Dr. Don Phipps, superintendent of Beaufort County Schools; Dr. Barbara Tansey, president of Beaufort County Community College, and Bob Heuts, Beaufort County Economic Development director.
The three will share their ideas for providing local residents with the quality education and job training – from kindergarten through graduation from the local community college – to prepare them for a career in the 21st Century job market.
The dinner is intended to kick off a week-long series of events marking Advanced Manufacturing Awareness Week at BCCC planned for April 7 through 11. Other events include a Career Fair, Free Day at BCCC, industry tours and tours of the campus by local schools.
