LOIS  V. BERRY

Dec. 31, 1924 – April 29, 2014

 

Lois  Sadler Voliva Berry, 89, of Grantsboro and formerly of Hyde County, died Tuesday evening, April 29, 2014, at her residence.

Born in Fairfield, N. C., on December 31, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Lizzie Gibbs Sadler.  She was married first to Albert Elmo Voliva and following his death she was married to Nathan Berry who also preceded her in death.  She was a former member of Watson’s Chapel United Methodist Church at Nebraska Community and later became a member of Grantsboro Church of God after moving to Pamlico County.

She spent many years in the Extension Homemakers Club in the Nebraska Community.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Watson’s Chapel United Methodist Church.  Raffael Farrow, Jr. will officiate.  Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Soule Cemetery near Swan Quarter.

A memorial service will be held at Grantsboro Church of God on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara V. Boaz of Chattanooga, TN; a step-son, Bobby Berry of Aurora; two step-daughters, Sandra Kay Pickell of Grantsboro and Belinda Lupton of Aurora; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends at the church during the hour prior to the funeral on Saturday.
