BEAUFORT COUNTY SCHOOLS | CONTRIBUTED TOP MARKS: The Beaufort County Schools Transportation Department hosted their annual School Bus ROADeo this week at Washington High School. Nearly 30 drivers from across the county competed on the driving course, which was laid out by school bus traffic and safety instructors from across the east. After the scores were tallied, BCS Transportation Director Jerry Wynne announced the winners. In third place, last year’s winner – Jimmy Ward who drives for WHS. Second place went to Paula Cuthrell from Northeast Elementary School. The winner of this year’s even was Iris Wilkinson, who drives for Northside High School. Jennifer Cornelius, Northside’s Assitant Principal, called Wilkinson “ a very dependable and conscious driver.” She added they were glad to have her at Northside High School.
