Billy Bland Nicholson, 80, of Plymouth died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.

Born February 19, 1934 in Martin County he was the son of the late Thomas Henry Nicholson and Carnie Bennett Nicholson and was preceded in death by his sisters, Lucille N. Baker, Doris N. Carter, Velma N. Everett, Pauline Nicholson and Myrtle N. Bratton; brothers, Douglas Nicholson, Chester Nicholson, Milton Nicholson and Thomas Nicholson.  Billy was a retired filter plant operator with Weyerhaeuser Corporation, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and member of Plymouth Church of Christ.

His family includes his wife, Annette Weathersbee Nicholson of Plymouth, N.C.; daughters, Connie N. Outten and husband Robert of Southern Shores, N.C. and Cindy N. Hamm and husband Dale of Greenville, N.C.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Outten, Stephen Outten, Graham Outten, Caroline Outten and William Dees.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Plymouth Church of Christ, Plymouth with Bob Moulden officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.  Family will receive friends on Friday, May 16, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm at Plymouth Church of Christ and other times at the residence.
