Mattamuskeet Elementary School teacher recognized

HILDA SPENCER | CONTRIBUTED CHOSEN: Mrs. Paige Smith, Mattamuskeet Elementary 3rd Grade teacher has been selected as one of 450 outstanding teachers from across North Carolina to participate in the NCDPI’s Governor’s Teacher Network. Governor’s Teacher Network (GTN) was established by NC Governor Pat McCrory in partnership with NCDPI and funded by the state’s Race to the Top (RttT) grant. Teachers were selected through a rigorous application process and will receive specialized training related to their projects. These well-deserving teachers will be paid for their work which will include serving for one year developing projects that support RttT initiatives in their school districts while remaining in their current teaching roles. Congratulations Paige Smith for being chosen to participate in this prestigious program and having received the honor of representing Hyde County Schools.
