Rena Foster Tyer

Ms. Rena Foster Tyer, age 62, a resident of 678 Old Pamlico Beach Road West, Belhaven, died Friday, August 1, 2014 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, August 4, 2014 at Pamlico Beach Community Cemetery at Ryder Hill, conducted by Dean Fulford, Jr.

Ms. Tyer was born in Beaufort County on August 2, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Foster and Ada Meekins Foster. Ms. Tyer was a homemaker. She loved working in her yard, enjoyed her flowers, and picking up sea shells at the beach.

Ms. Tyer is survived by her daughter and the “joy of her life”, Katrina Tyer of Atlantic Beach; her sister, Velma Huggins and her husband, Leo of Pamlico Beach; three nieces, Glenda Bryson Hopkins and husband, Robbie of Pamlico Beach, Teresa Bryson Woolard and husband, Kenny of Pinetown, Lisa Bryson Jones and husband, Stanley of Washington; and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to the parents, Ms. Tyer was preceded in death by her son, Jeremy Blake Tyer.

The family will receive friends at Ms. Tyer’s home, 678 Old Pamlico Beach Road West, Belhaven.
