DERITA B. ROWE CHAUNCEY

Nov. 19, 1939 – Sept. 3, 2014

 

Derita Murle Bland Rowe Chauncey, age 74, a resident of 350 Sparrow Bay Rd., Blounts Creek, died Wednesday September 3, 2014, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at her home at 350 Sparrow Bay Rd., Blounts Creek, on Saturday September 6, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. officiated by Pastor Joan Fischer and Pastor David Linton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday September 5, 2014 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.

Mrs. Chauncey was born November 19, 1939 in Beaufort County, NC, daughter of the late Raymond H. Bland and the late Beulah Bell Cherry Bland. She was a member of Ware’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Washington. She loved being outdoors among her flowers and gardens and kept up the dedication until her health began to fail.

She is survived by two daughters, Connie Martin and husband Gary of Blounts Creek, Beulah Anderson and husband Kenny of Mt. Olive, and a son Raymond Rowe of Blounts Creek, two sisters Alice Beacham and husband Kenneth of Greenville, and Bonnie Ellison of Washington, two sisters-in-law, Opal Nixon, and Maxine Kinnion, as well as 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, George A. Rowe and her late husband Bobby Chauncey, one son, Joseph Lee Rowe, Sr., three brothers, Raymond Bland, Jr., Larry Bland and Eddie Bland, and a sister Trilla Taylor.
