From Eastern Elementary School
Eastern Elementary School celebrated “Kiss and Go” day on Sept. 22, 2014 to encourage students to walk to class independently without the help from their parents. Washington High School football players and cheerleaders came dressed in jerseys and uniforms to help open car doors, cheer on the students and encourage Kindergarten and First Graders to walk on their own to class.
Pre-K, Kindergarten, and first-grade students all enjoyed getting to meet and greet these high school students on their way into class. Students were giving out high fives and hugs to all the high school students, which helped dry up any tears they may have had from leaving their parents.
Eastern Elementary School and Washington High School collaborate throughout the year with many different events. Eastern Elementary’s Kiss and Go Day was a great way to kick off another successful year between these two schools. Eastern Elementary would like to thank all the students, coaches, and teachers that helped make this possible for our student’s to have the coolest way to start a Monday.
