LORRAINE SPENCER SADLER

Feb. 13, 1952 – Oct. 2, 2014

 

Lorraine Spencer Sadler, 62, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 2, 2014 at her home in Williamston, NC.

Lorraine was born February 13, 1952 in Engelhard, NC. to the late Theola Gibbs Spencer. On September 5, 1970 she married Donald Sadler, who survives. Lorraine was an active member of Community Christian Church. She was the owner and operator of Lorraine’s Cuts and Curls for 26 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was happiest when spending time with family and friends. Her giving and outgoing personality led her to perform as “Granny” in community projects and charity events, including Relay for Life and ALS fundraisers.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her grandmother, Dortha Gibbs, special uncle, Winford Gibbs, and sister, Ivydell Hammond “Tootsie”. She is survived by her daughter, Anita Sadler Roberson and husband Brent, and two grandchildren, Mary Spencer Roberson and Liam Roberson of Williamston. She is also survived by sisters, Janet Midgett and Jackie Gibbs of Engelhard, NC and sister-in-law, Tina Eakes and husband David of Fairfield, NC.

The family will receive friends from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Community Christian Church, in Williamston, NC and other times at the home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 2:00pm at Community Christian Church with graveside service following at Martin Memorial Gardens.
