The Alpha Omega Chapter, Eta State, of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International met Oct. 2, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Washington.
President Betty Cochran welcomed everyone and new member Dee Congleton was inducted by the existing officers: Betty Cochran, June Zurface, Katherine Holt, Jane Griffin and Linda Beddard. Mary Alice Chapin and June Zurface honored Callaree Horton, a dedicated educator, with a service of remembrance. An invocation and a delicious dinner were provided by the Washington III Hostess Committee. The program included honoring retirees and an informative presentation on “Schools for Africa” presented by Penny Doughtie. Jane Griffin was recognized for her dedication to the organization with the Treasured Rose. Linda Beddard presented the Treasurer’s Report. After a wonderful informative meeting, President Betty Cochran adjourned the meeting. The December meeting will be a covered dish supper in Bath.
