The Washington Rotary Club met Thursday evening at the Washington Yacht and Country Club. Club President Brad Davis opened the meeting with a greeting and lead in the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of America. Club Chaplin Bruce Rabon offered a blessing for the upcoming meal. Rotarian Rocky Jacobs inducted new member Jeff Larson into the Rotary Club and explained how Rotary was the first service organization in America and had grown into a worldwide organization with over 1.5 million members, and further noted that the Washington Rotary was the third oldest club in North Carolina, being formed in 1920. Jeff Larson was sponsored by Bill Wall. President Davis thanked Dr. and Mrs. Jeff Rumley for hosting the annual barbecue dinner at their house last Thursday, and reminded club members about the upcoming Founders Day celebration next Thursday night. The meeting concluded with the recitation of Rotary’s Four Way Test of the things we think, say and do. Pictured left to right are Rocky Jacobs, Jeff Larson and Bill Wall.
