MARGARET ESTER ELKS FISHER

Nov. 28, 1921 – Nov. 3, 2014

 

Mrs. Margaret Ester Elks Fisher, age 92, a resident of Washington, died Tuesday, November 3, 2014, at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Oakdale Cemetery and will be conducted by Dr. Jimmy Moore.

Mrs. Fisher was born in Beaufort County on November 28, 1921 to the late Joshua and Cora McGowan Elks. On February 9, 1950 she married Osey Benjamin Fisher Sr. who preceded her in death on May 30, 1987. She was a graduate of Old Ford High School and was a cashier for Hospital Pharmacy and Tayloe Drug Store. Mrs. Fisher was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington and Woodmen of the World.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Bradshaw and husband Brad of Charleston, South Carolina and Virginia Cline and husband Herb of Lake Port, California, two sons, Osey Benjamin Fisher, Jr. of Chocowinity, Steven E. Fisher and wife Marci of Burlington, thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Thomas Osey Fisher and his wife Nevada.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday November 5, 2014 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
