CHOCOWINITY MIDDLE SCHOOL | CONTRIBUTED EDIBLE CELLS: Students in Sonya Roughton’s seventh-grade science classes recently studied a unit that involved plant and animal cells. As a homework project, students created The Incredible Edible Cell by using only edible food products to illustrate each organelle within either the plant or animal cells. Each structure was labeled along with the function and description. Students brought these cells to school to be presented to the class. Pictured Sonya Roughton and several of her seventh-grade science students pose with their projects. They are (left to right) Kaila Lietz, Conner Kelley, Jamari Nelson, James Corprew, Saramina Perez, Dalanda Williams, Janya O'Neal, and Angelina Sprouse.
