TESSIE HUDSON CLARK

Dec. 14, 1941 – Dec. 21, 2014

 

Mrs. Tessie Elks Hudson Clark, age 73, a resident of 495 Bear Creek Road, Grimesland, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Hodges Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Chocowinity, conducted by Rev. Ronnie Gurganus and Rev. Fredrick Dixon.  Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park, Greenville.

Her sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers:  Stanley Hudson, Colin Hudson, Timmy Hudson, Joseph Deans, Seth Hudson, and Ford Kennedy.

Mrs. Clark was born in Beaufort County on December 14, 1941.  She was the daughter of the late Roy Lee Elks and Reatha Paramore Elks.  Mrs. Clark was a homemaker.  She was a life time member of Hodges Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, the Adult Sunday School Class and Women’s Ministries.    Mrs. Clark volunteered at Pitt Memorial Hospital when her health permitted.

Mrs. Clark was married to Jimmy R. Hudson, who preceded her in death, November 24, 1998.  On December 2, 2000, she married Ottis Ray Clark, who survives.

Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Sandy Deans and husband, Sammy of Blounts Creek, Marietta Wagner and husband, Joe of Graham, N.C.; two sons, Colin Hudson and wife, Shari of Murfreesboro, N.C., Stanley Hudson and wife, Linda of Grimesland; three brothers, Jessie Elks and wife, Diane of Washington, Eugene Elks and wife, Maxilyn of Chocowinity, Philip Elks of Chocowinity; a sister, Mary Fleming Woolard and husband, Carlos of Chocowinity;  and ten grandchildren, Timmy Hudson, Alexandria Hudson-Cullipher, Kayla Hudson, Corey Hudson, Emily Deans Johnson, Joseph Deans, Seth Hudson, Sara Hudson, Ford Kennedy and Elizabeth Kennedy and three great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Paul Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington and other times at her home, 495 Bear Creek Road, Grimesland.

The family would like to extend “Special Thanks” to her caregiver of the past four years, Sandra Reddick and Kathy Taylor and the staff of Vidant Home Health and Hospice for their care and compassion.
