NEW YEAR’S BABY: The first baby born in 2015 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital was Riley Elaine Alexander, daughter of proud parents Cody and Lauren Alexander of Williamston. Riley was born at 12:16 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2015. Riley weighed 7 lbs. 12 oz. and was 20 inches long. Each year the volunteers at Vidant Beaufort prepare a gift basket for the first baby of the new year that includes handmade baby blankets, bath toys and lots of baby necessities.
