ROY F. SILVERTHORNE JR.

Mr. Roy Frederick Silverthorne, Jr., age 86, a resident of 6164 County Home Road, Winterville, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Services will be announced.

Mr. Silverthorne was born in Beaufort County on September 13, 1928.  He was the son of the late Roy Frederick Silverthorne, Sr. and Florence Smith Silverthorne.  Mr. Silverthorne was a retired self- employed electrical contractor.   He was a past member of the Honda Gold Wing Motorcycle Club.  Mr. Silverthorne attended the Church of God.

Mr. Silverthorne is survived by his wife, Ellen Sawyer Silverthorne of the home; a son, Roy Frederick Silverthorne III; a daughter, Gina Elizabeth Wooten; a step daughter, Karen Cox; and two sisters, Janet Silverthorne Ingalls and Joyce Ann Winstead.
