JEAN MARIE MACKLIN HOAGLAND

March 7, 1951 – Jan. 7, 2015

 

Mrs. Jean Marie Macklin Hoagland, age 63, a resident of N. King St., Bath, NC, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Jean was born in Newark, NJ on March 7, 1951 daughter of the late Harry T. Macklin and Ruth Buckman Macklin Matarazzo who survives. Jean was married to Howard D. Hoagland, Jr. who survives. Jean was a long time member of Bath EMS. She was a breast cancer survivor having beat cancer on three occasions. She cared deeply for her family, friends, and her community.

In addition to her loving husband and mother, Jean is survived by her children, Patrick Hoagland and wife Margo of Greenville, NC, Brendan Hoagland and wife Elizabeth of Bath, NC, Mairin and Caitlin Hoagland of Bath, NC; her brother, Michael M. Macklin and wife Janet of Rockport, TX; her grandson, Sean Hoagland; and nephews, Nicholas, Max and Joshua Macklin.

A graveside celebration of her life will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Eddie Bowen. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Hwy 264 E., Washington, NC.
