Heidi Jernigan Smith of Bath announces the engagement of her daughter Melissa Nichole Smith to Justin Brooks Godley, the son of Kathy Swain Godley of Washington. The bride-elect is the daughter of the late John Bry Smith and the granddaughter of Patricia Voorhis of Schenectady, N.Y.

The groom-elect is the son of the late Michael Wayne Godley and the grandson of Joyce Godley and the late Mr. and Mrs. Junior Ray Swain and Nathan Godley.

The couple will exchange vows on May 30.
